🛍️ Plastic & Foam Bans
A statewide ban on expanded polystyrene (EPS) food containers is now in effect. Beachside restaurants and vendors are required to use compostable or reusable alternatives in an effort to reduce pollution and protect marine life.

Some California cities, such as San Clemente, have installed 24/7 thermal surveillance cameras on beaches in coordination with federal agencies. These measures aim to detect illegal boat landings but have also raised public concerns about privacy and civil oversight.
